A New Venture for Short Mat Bowlers.

February 2007  saw the commencement of an exciting new development for Short Mat Bowlers in Herefordshire. A series of coaching sessions, designed to inform newcomers, improve old hands and enhance enjoyment of taking part in the sport at every level. Instruction is carried out in a relaxed manner by Fred Jolley and Neil Kellett at Fownhope SMBC. Both coaches are experienced bowlers who have played at a high level of national short mat bowls. Training is available to all S M. club members in Herefordshire and is planned to be on-going during the summer months. Advantage of this opportunity has already been taken by bowlers from Fownhope, Larruperz SMBC Lea SMBC Whitchurch SMBC and Woolhope SMBC. Other sessions are planned for this year.
